Another entrant in free mobility devices is Professor Furukawa Osmau’s Mobility concept. This, Skateboard-styled device is a robotic high-tech transportation module which is being conceived especially for urban areas, and more importantly to easy the travel from your location to the nearest bus station, train station or taxi stop. Dubbed Compact Mobility, this is an 80kg device, which isn’t an alternative for long distance travels, but is a great prospect to assist in short distance commuting. With a size of 300×600×250mm and a maximum speed of 10km/h, Furukawa Osmau and Shibaura Institute of Technology are positive of getting the Compact Mobility marketable by the end of this year.
